FUTURE INNOVATION
CHALLENGES (FIC) 2026

With its strategic partners, FIC 2026 seeks to enhance the capacity for innovation in academia, business, and society by encouraging approaches to problem-solving that are in line with smart technology, sustainability, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2026 edition of FIC is open to participants from higher education institutions, research centres, industries, and SMEs, either individually or in teams. Participants will compete under designated innovation categories addressing future-focused themes such as green technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, energy, health, education, and community solutions.

During the Preliminary Stage, participants are required to submit a 3-page extended abstract outlining the introduction, problem statement, methodology or approach, expected results or outcomes, and references, together with an A4-sized innovation poster. Submissions will be evaluated by an expert panel to shortlist the most promising projects. Shortlisted finalists will be invited to the Final Stage, where they will present their innovations through a short pitching session in front of a Grand Jury. Selected teams may also be required to submit a short presentation video prior to the final event. The Grand Jury will select the top three winners and consolation winners for each category, with winners receiving cash prizes and official recognition.
